Cybersecurity Unicorn Perimeter 81 Raises $100 Million
Perimeter 81, a security service edge (SSE) and zero trust network access (ZTNA) provider, has added $100 million in a Series C funding round and increased its valuation to $1 billion. The company will use the funding to explore opportunities to extend its network security market reach, according to a prepared statement.
Furthermore, Perimeter 81 will accelerate the development and distribution of its SSE platform, the company said. It also is hiring for multiple positions across its sales, marketing and research and development teams.
Perimeter 81 Launches Technology Alliance Partner Program
The Series C funding comes after Perimeter 81 in January 2022 announced the Technology Alliance Partner Program for independent software vendors (ISVs) and SaaS companies.
Program partners include:
- Duo Security
- Ping Identity
Program partners can leverage Perimeter 81’s technology to deliver networking-as-a-service, the business indicated. They also can access Perimeter 81 videos, webinars and other marketing and sales materials.
In addition to its Technology Alliances Partner Program, Perimeter 81 provides a partner program for MSSPs and MSPs. The company may look to expand its MSSP and MSP partner program as well.
A Closer Look at Perimeter 81
Perimeter 81 offers an SSE platform that organizations can use to secure their networks and maintain a decentralized, hybrid workplace, the company noted. The platform empowers organizations to defend their corporate cloud and on-premise networks against cyberattacks.
Along with SASE and ZTNA, the platform offers firewall-as-a-service, secure web gateway and other network security capabilities, Perimeter 81 said. It also provides identity management, zero-trust application access and other features.
Perimeter 81 has over 250 employees and supports 2,400 customers globally. The company more than doubled its annual recurring revenue year over year in 2021, though actual dollar figures were not disclosed.
