PayPal Leak: PayPal Holdings Inc. said Friday that personally identifiable information for roughly 1.6 million users has potentially been compromised at TIO Networks -- a company it acquired earlier this year, The Wall Street Journal notes. Meanwhile, City Utilities of Springfield, Mo., has issued a customer warning related to the TIO Networks breach.
7. U.S. Banks Doomsday Plan: U.S. banks have quietly launched a doomsday project they hope will prevent a run on the financial system should one of them suffer a debilitating cyberattack, The Wall Street Journal says. The effort, which went live earlier this year and is dubbed Sheltered Harbor, currently includes banks and credit unions that have roughly 400 million U.S. accounts, the report mentions. The effort requires member firms to individually back up data so it can be used by other firms to serve customers of a disabled bank, The Journal adds.
6. Sloppy Spy Work: A National Security Agency employee who worked at home without authorization on sensitive hacking tools pleaded guilty Friday to violating the Espionage Act, The Washington Post says. The employee also used Kaspersky Lab security software on his home system...

4. Kaspersky Labs: A major UK cyber security agency is working government agencies not to deploy Kaspersky Lab's software on systems that manage classified information. The UK, like the U.S., is worried about potential ties between Kaspersky and Russia's government. Kaspersky has denied such claims, and is working with the UK to provide additional assurances that win the government's trust.

Perimeter Security: Cradlepoint has unveiled a new NetCloud Perimeter service, a software-defined perimeter solution that shields enterprises from device-oriented threats by providing a private cloud network over any Internet connection to secure and isolate connected devices, including M2M, IoT and mobile devices, the company claims.
2. Partnership: Oxford Computer Group (OCG), a professional services firm, has agreed to offer the Lieberman Software's identity management software suite to Microsoft customers across the United States and Europe.
1. MSSP Rebrands: BlueteamGlobal, a global cybersecurity services firm launched earlier this year, has changed its name to BlueVoyant, effective immediately. Starting in early 2018, the company will provide Advanced Cyber Threat Intelligence for large companies and Managed Security Services for smaller businesses. BlueVoyant announced $125 million in funding earlier this year.
