7. Striking Back: US federal prosecutors in Minnesota have charged a 46-year-old man with hiring a cyberhitman – well, technically, three hacking services – to launch a year-long campaign of distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks on his former employer, according to Naked Security.

6. Phishing Detection: Easy Solutions, a Cyxtera Business, has launched an Early Phishing Detection service as part of its Detect Safe Browsing framework.

5. CrowdStrike: CrowdStrike has introduced a new vulnerability management module for the company’s security platform.

4. Identity & Access Management: Accenture is partnering with Ping Identity to help organizations move their business applications and infrastructure to the cloud, while also enhancing security and permission control through advanced identity and access management (IAM) services, the companies say.

3. Equifax Financials: Equifax’s quarterly profit fell as hacker costs impacted the credit reporting company’s business performance. Shocker… not.

2. SEC Breach Guidance: The SEC may introduce new guidelines that will define how organizations have to disclose security breaches. We’ll share more details soon.
