9. Alaska Voter Data Leak: More depressing news in the world of IT security and voter data. Indeed, Alaska is the latest state to suffer a major voter data leak...

8. Vevo Hacked: Vevo, a video service, has suffered a hack involving 3.12TB of videos, documents and more...

7. Avast Hack: Piriform, which Avast acquired in July 2017, suffered a breach involving  CCleaner v5.33.6162 and CCleaner Cloud v1.07.3191. The breach resolved "quickly" and the company believes "no harm was done to any of our users." CCleaner is used by 130 million people, including 15 million Android users.

6. Equifax Hack Extends to Europe: Yes indeed. Even UK citizens are now feeling the heat...

5. Kaspersky Lab and Mississippi Election Systems: The State of Mississippi is eliminating Kaspersky Lab's security security from election systems. The move was under way even before the U.S. Federal Government barred Kaspersky's software from federal systems. The feds say Kaspersky may have ties to Russia's government. The security company denies the claims. CEO Eugene Kaspersky is scheduled to testify before congress later this month...

4. Talent: CyberArk veteran Adel Eid has joined Sophos as channel sales director for Asia Pacific and Japan. Adel has more than 20 years of experience in channel management, the company says.

3. Firewall Management: SolarWinds has launched SolarWinds Network Insight for Cisco Adaptive Security Appliances (ASA). The platform provides "comprehensive monitoring —well beyond hardware health and performance—and the ability to manage access control lists (ACLs)," SolarWinds says. It's unclear if or when the company will promote the firewall management tool to the SolarWinds MPS partner base...

2. Professional Services & Managed Security: Keep a close eye on SonicWall, which is lining up partners to offer professional services to other partners. Moreover, SonicWall will ultimately connect the dots between MSSPs and those professional services partners. We've got details from Chief Revenue Officer Steve Pataky. We'll share more info soon.

1. Security Monitoring:  SentinelOne has launched a security monitoring service called Vigilance. The monitoring service includes 24/7 support to review security alerts and execute applicable policy-driven actions reducing the time and effort spent by security teams to minimize threats, SentinelOne says. The company also recently partnered with SonicWall to link endpoint and firewall security management.
