1. Industry Recognition: Veracode, an intelligent software security solutions provider, has attained State Risk and Authorization Management Program (StateRAMP) authorization, which reaffirms the company’s commitment to deliver cloud-based application security software to agencies at the federal, state and local government level.

2. Leadership Move: Thrive, a cybersecurity and digital transformation managed services provider, has appointed Kenny Ash as its new head of Channels. Ash is responsible for leading Thrive's channel sales nationally and aligning the channel team with training, education and development while driving new partnerships.

3. Industry Award: Relativity, a specialist in legal technology, has won the Security Software Innovator award in the Microsoft Security Excellence Awards 2023. Award winners demonstrated excellence across security, identity, management, compliance and privacy during the past 12 months.

4. Product Launch: Cipher Security, the cybersecurity division of the Prosegur Group, has launched its managed suite of cybersecurity services, xMDR. Cipher Labs developed the xMDR suite to help companies secure their digital footprint and stay ahead in an ever-increasing threat landscape, the company said.

5. Malware Alert: Threat actors are selling a new malware called Atomic macOS Stealer (AMOS) on the Telegram channel to target macOS platforms. The malware is capable of extracting autofill information, passwords, wallets, and more. (Source: Business Insider)

6. Japan Boosts Cyber Defenses: Japan's Defense Ministry is increasing cyber defense personnel at Self-Defense Forces (SDF) to some 20,000 over the next five years. The ministry plans to increase the SDF cyber defense personnel to some 2,200 by the end of fiscal 2023 and to 4,000 by the end of 2027. (Source: Nippon.com)
