Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) News: 07 August 2018

10. USB & Docker Container Security: CrowdStrike has released software that addresses Docker container and USB security needs, and the company has adopted MITRE’s Adversarial Tactics, Techniques, and Common Knowledge (ATT&CK) Framework.

9. Ransomware Mitigation: The BlackBerry Workspaces content collaboration platform now features a ransomware recovery capability. Most ransomware recovery solutions enforce a companywide rollback, meaning even users whose systems were not impacted may lose data, BlackBerry says. With BlackBerry Workspaces, the administrator can check user logs to pinpoint exactly what workspaces, folders and files have been affected, and selectively roll impacted files back to pre-attack versions and without restrictions on how far back it can recover, the company adds.

8. Partnership: SentinelOne and Avid Secure have partnered to provide security teams with visibility into their cloud workloads—including their hosts and networks. By combining SentinelOne with Avid Secure, security professionals can determine whether or not resources are protected and prioritize their protection needs, the companies say.

7. Network Security: Qualys has launched Passive Network Sensor (PNS), which adds network analysis functions into the Qualys Cloud Platform. Customers and service providers gain a single pane of glass for IT, security and compliance monitoring.

6. Firewall Performance: Juniper has unveiled a new services processing card for the company's SRX5000 firewalls. The card can deliver up to an 11x performance boost across a variety of key performance metrics, the company says.

5. Storage Security: Bitdefender's GravityZone Security for Storage is now available. The platform protects protects customers against threats that can spread through the corporate infrastructure via Network-Attached Storage (NAS) and file-sharing systems.

4. Major Router Malware Infection: SpiderLabs, owned by Trustwave (the Top 100 MSSP), has discovered a major MikroTik router infection in Brazil, and it could lead to major hacks across the world...

3. Atlanta Ransomware Cleanup Costs: The city of Atlanta now expects to spend up to $17 million cleaning up a ransomware attack from earlier this year...
