Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) News: 19 January 2018

5. Kaspersky vs. U.S. Government:  Kaspersky Lab asked a D.C. federal judge on Wednesday for an injunction stopping the Trump administration from enforcing an order banning it from federal systems that was prompted by fears that its antivirus software could be hijacked by Russian spies, Law360 notes...

4. ServiceNow, Okta Partnership: Okta has launched Okta Identity Cloud for Security Operations. The app integrates with ServiceNow Security Operations to help businesses stay ahead of and protect against modern threat actors using ServiceNow, the two companies say.

3. Two Ransomware Attacks: A Greenfield, Indiana hospital system last week paid a $50,000 ransom to hackers who hijacked patient data, according to IndyStar. Meanwhile, electronic health records specialist AllScripts also apparently suffered a ransomware attack. We'll share more details on both incidents soon.

2. SOC Software Partnership: JASK and Cylance have announced a technology alliance through which JASK’s Autonomous Security Operations Center (ASOC) platform will integrate with the CylancePROTECT AI-powered endpoint security platform. We'll take a closer look at the relationship and its implications for MSSPs soon.

1. M&A - MSSP Buyout: The SCE Group has acquired Cayden Security, an MSSP that offers cybersecurity, IT risk management and compliance services. We'll share more details soon.
