1. Funding - SIEM and SOAR: Siemplify has raised $30 million in Series C funding and plans to further expand its MSSP partner program. This is the latest in a growing list of SIEM-related funding deals the past few weeks. Earlier examples include Sumo Logic raising $110 million and achieving a $1 billion valuation, and Exabeam raising $75 million.

2. Remote Control Software Breach: TeamViewer has been the victim of a cyberattack which was discovered during the autumn of 2016, but was never disclosed, BleepingComputer reports. This attack is thought to be of Chinese origins and utilized the Winnti backdoor. This is the latest disclosure in a growing list of remote access/remote control-related breaches across the software industry.

3. DDoS Mitigation - Amazon Patent: Amazon has earned a patent for “various techniques” to mitigate Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, this report says.

4. Super Yacht Cybersecurity: Yes, there's a market for that...

5. Department of Homeland Security - Stretched Thin: The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is asking its cybersecurity employees to focus instead on mini-deployments to the U.S.-Mexico border, according to The Daily Beast.

6. Breach Notification Law: New Jersey businesses will soon be required to notify affected consumers following a data breach that involves online account information that would allow access to the consumer’s online account, according to an amendment that takes effect on July 1, 2019, JD Supra reports.
