2. Research – Ransomware Attack Demands: Finance and real estate were among the industries that received the highest average ransom demands, with an average demand of nearly $8 million and $5.2 million, respectively, according to research from Palo Alto Networks’ Unit 42 group.
3. Research – Phishing Attack Rates: Phishing soared 61% in the past year to more than 1 million attacks and continues to pose a significant threat to most Internet users, according to an annual study from Interisle Consulting Group.

11. Infrastructure Cyberattacks: The Port of Los Angeles experiences roughly 40 million cyberattacks per month, mostly from Europe and Russia including former Eastern Bloc nations, according to gCaptain. The Port has contacted the FBI for assistance, the report said.
