Bitdefender has brought to market GravityZone Security for Mobile, enabling managed security providers (MSPs) and their customers to "gain deep visibility into their mobile footprint to prevent, protect, detect and respond to cyberattacks," according to the company.

Andrei Florescu, deputy general manager and senior vice president of Products for Bitdefender's Business Solutions Group, commented on the new release:

"It is critical for organizations to have an advanced mobile threat detection solution as part of their broader endpoint security strategy. GravityZone Security for Mobile is another example of how we are delivering trusted threat prevention, protection, detection and response across all platforms to help organizations secure data and strengthen their cyber resilience."

How Bitdefender Protects Android, iOS and Chromebook Users

GravityZone Security for Mobile uses Bitdefender's anti-malware, threat intelligence solutions and machine learning to vet applications, track device status and guard against malicious apps and phishing attacks, Bitdefender noted. In doing so, the solution helps organizations improve their security posture.

In addition, GravityZone Security for Mobile detects network-based threats and maps them to the tactics and techniques used in MITRE ATT&CK security evaluations, Bitdefender said. As such, the solution helps organizations prevent, detect and respond to network-based threats such as:

  • Reconnaissance attempts when cybercriminals secretly gather information about organizations' information systems)
  • Weak security connections and man-in-the-middle attacks when cybercriminals try to intercept multi-factor authentication codes sent to mobile devices

GravityZone Security for Mobile is now available for Bitdefender's GravityZone cloud solutions. It also integrates with the Bitdefender GravityZone console and can be used in conjunction with:

  • Mobile device management (MDM)
  • Enterprise mobility management (EMM)
  • Unified endpoint management (UEM) and security information
  • Event management (SIEM) solutions

Bitdefender Introduces App Anomaly Detection for Android Devices

The GravityZone Security for Mobile news comes after Bitdefender in May 2023 unveiled App Anomaly Detection, a real-time, behavior-based protection layer for its Mobile Security for Android solution.

App Anomaly Detection identifies anomalous and malicious behavior in Android applications, according to Bitdefender. As a result, App Anomaly Detection protects Android users from known and unknown attacks that can lead to financial loss, account takeover and identity fraud.

Bitdefender provides anti-malware, internet of things (IoT) security, behavioral analytics and artificial intelligence solutions to organizations in more than 170 countries. The company offers its Partner Advantage Network for MSSPs, MSPs and other technology providers.
