The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has awarded a sizable $668 million contract to ManTech under its government-wide Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) program to secure the networks of federal agencies.The Herndon, Virginia-based security provider landed the six-year deal as part of the DHS’s Dynamic and Evolving Federal Enterprise Network Defense (DEFEND) initiative for Group E agencies. CDM DEFEND is a new acquisition strategy that replaces the earlier CDM blanket purchase agreement. It provides federal agencies with access to commercial cybersecurity solutions.Protecting Nine AgenciesManTech will serve as the prime contractor providing CDM capabilities and support to DHS and the nine agencies in CDM Group E, including the:This isn't ManTech's maiden CDM voyage. In 2016, it secured two task orders for $110 million to provide managed security and privileged access management services (via FedScoop). “ManTech has played a strategic role in the CDM program for over three years, supporting more than 65 agencies in both Phases 1 and 2, and we’re honored to continue supporting the CDM program’s critical role in defending federal networks,” said Kevin Phillips, ManTech president and CEO.
