Each morning MSSP Alert broadcasts a quick lineup of news, analysis and chatter from across the global managed security services provider ecosystem.

Here’s the lineup for Monday, July 17, 2017:

8. Breach Coverage:  AsTech, an independent security consulting company, has expanded its Paragon Security Program (PSP) warranty against damages from data breaches to $5 million, making it the largest guarantee for application security in the world. CymmetriaSentinelOne and WhiteHat Security also provide a financial guarantee to customers in the event of successful cyber-attacks on their applications and networks, AsTech notes. We'll share more thoughts soon.

7. Runner Up?: Singapore has the strongest cybersecurity capabilities in the world, with the U.S. coming in a close second, according the United Nations Global Cybersecurity Index 2017, Bloomberg notes. We'll take a closer look at the report soon.

6. Kaspersky Lab for MSPs: Kaspersky Lab has upgraded its Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud, a multi-tenant cloud console solution for SMBs and MSPs that manage remotely manage customer infrastructures. The update extends Kaspersky's cloud management dashboard from Windows to Mac endpoints. Rivals such as Sophos and Webroot have long offered cloud-based management dashboards for MSPs.

5. State Cybersecurity: 38 state governors across the U.S. have signed a pact to improve state cybersecurity. As part of the agreement, they pledged to enhance cybersecurity governance, prepare and defend their states from cybersecurity events and help grow the nation’s cyber workforce, according to a National Governor's Association Meeting over the weekend.

4. Secure Transactions: IBM's latest Z series mainframe can run more than 12 billion encrypted transactions per day. The new system also introduces a new encryption engine that allows customers to encrypt data associated with any application, cloud service or database all the time, IBM claims.

3. Global Cyber Attack Costs: A major, global cyber attack could trigger an average of $53 billion of economic losses, a figure on par with a catastrophic natural disaster such as U.S. Superstorm Sandy in 2012, Lloyd's of London said in a report on Monday, according to Reuters. We'll share more perspectives soon.

2. CyberArk Revenue Warning: CyberArk (CYBR) has issued a financial warning for its Q2 2017, estimating that revenue will be around $57.0 million to $57.5 million -- compared to the company’s previous guidance of $61.0 million to $62.0 million. The cybersecurity company blamed the shortfall on certain deals not closing in EMEA. Amid the disclosure, shares fell more than 16 percent on Friday, July 17. The warning came just as CyberArk was wrapping up its annual partner and customer conference. CyberArk will announce actual results on August 8.
