Versa Adds Generative AI Capabilities for Security, Networking

Versa Networks has embedded generative artificial intelligence capabilities into its VersaAI technology.

Now, VersaAI includes capabilities that organizations can use to "identify malicious behaviors in real time, secure generative AI tools and enhance network and security operational excellence," Versa announced.

VersaAI Speeds Up Threat Detection and Response

With VersaAI, organizations can use artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to pre-process files and code snippets to identify malware, Versa indicated. This helps organizations eliminate zero day attacks that cover 90% of common file types and reduce the load on sandboxes by 75%.

In addition, organizations can leverage VersaAI to enforce zero trust access controls across their users, devices and resources, Versa said. They can assess user behavior using AI- and ML-based user entity and behavior analytics (UEBA) and device posture capabilities and isolate potential threats into microsegments.

Organizations also can utilize VersaAI to implement policy-based controls for ChatGPT and other generative AI tools, Versa said. This helps organizations further reduce their risk of unauthorized access to their data.

VersaAI provides AI-assisted data loss prevention (DLP) in limited access as well. It uses context-based analysis performed by large language models (LLMs) to identify sensitive data and protect against data leakage, Versa said.

Organizations Can Use VersaAI to Troubleshoot Their Networks

VersaAI leverages Verbo, a natural language processing-based chatbot, and VANI, a specialized machine learning core used to detect and predict anomalies, Versa noted. By doing so, organizations can use VersaAI to automatically troubleshoot network issues, optimize their network operations, reduce network downtime and improve network predictability.

With VersaGPT, VersaAI users can ask questions to access Versa documentation and its knowledge base, the company said. Meanwhile, security and networking teams can use VANI to adjust traffic paths to avoid network degradation or reachability issues and maintain application and network SLAs.

Versa Offers Zero Trust Everywhere Solution

The VersaAI enhancements come after Versa in April 2023 announced two Versa Zero Trust Everywhere products: Versa Zero Trust – Premises (ZT-Prem) and Versa Secure Software-Defined LAN (Versa SD-LAN). Organizations can use these products to enforce their zero trust security policies for remote and onsite workers in campus and branch offices, the company said.

Versa is a secure access service edge (SASE) platform provider that delivers DLP, UEBA and other security services. It also offers the ACE Partner Program, which lets MSSPs, MSPs and other technology providers integrate its platform and services into their portfolios.
