1Kosmos has raised $57 million in Series B funding to accelerate product development, grow its global sales reach, and deepen integrations with leading identity and security platforms, reports Silicon Angle. The company, founded in 2018, focuses on combining biometric identity proofing with passwordless multifactor authentication, underpinned by blockchain technology, to make digital access more secure and user-controlled.Its flagship offering, Verify, enables self-service identity proofing during onboarding, using AI and machine learning to check government-issued IDs, passports, and driver’s licenses with high accuracy. The process avoids app downloads, supports web-to-mobile document capture, and prioritizes privacy. For workforce access, the platform replaces passwords and fragmented MFA setups with a unified, passwordless system that works across operating systems and VPNs, offering adaptive, risk-based authentication. For customer-facing scenarios, 1Kosmos offers a digital identity wallet under its Customer solution. The wallet allows enterprises to verify customers biometrically, reduce fraud, and improve user experience while ensuring data privacy through encrypted, permissioned blockchain storage. Users maintain control of their personal information, which helps businesses streamline compliance and audit processes. The funding round was led by Forgepoint Capital and Oquirrh Ventures, with participation from industry investors and the 1Kosmos leadership team. A $10 million line of credit from Bridge Bank was also included, giving the company additional capital to push forward its plans for broader adoption of passwordless authentication and stronger defenses against impersonation-based attacks.
