AirMDR has secured $15.5 million in seed funding to scale its AI-native Managed Detection and Response (MDR) offering. The round includes a new $10.5 million infusion on top of a previously announced $5 million raise. The company says it will use the funds to build out its sales and marketing teams while continuing to invest in product development, particularly around the capabilities of its AI Analysts.

The MDR space is crowded, but AirMDR is targeting a gap: organizations that want the benefits of a 24/7 SOC without the overhead or complexity. Its approach combines automated alert triage with human oversight, aiming to balance speed and precision. For MSSPs and internal SOCs, the pitch is better operational efficiency and reduced manual workload, especially for teams trying to keep pace with growing alert volumes.

AirMDR’s founding team has history in cloud SIEM, security automation, and identity detection. That experience shows in the platform’s integrations, automated playbooks, and focus on transparency. The company is also leaning into managed delivery, offering onboarding and analyst support alongside the AI.

With this raise, AirMDR joins a wave of startups positioning AI as the next step for security operations. The company plans to showcase its platform at Black Hat 2025 and is actively pursuing partnerships with MSSPs looking to modernize their MDR stack.
