CData has expanded its Connect AI platform with the new Connect AI Gateway, designed to address challenges organizations face with AI adoption, including high costs, unclear return on investment, and a lack of visibility and governance, according to coverage from CRN.
The CData Connect AI Gateway acts as a control point between AI agents and enterprise IT systems, extending the company's existing AI Connect MCP server. This new offering aims to help businesses struggling with stalled AI initiatives by providing improved AI productivity and governance. Marie Forshaw, CData senior vice president of product marketing, stated that many companies are questioning the ROI of their AI investments. The Gateway addresses this by offering better visibility and governance, allowing organizations to securely connect AI to corporate systems and sensitive data.
A key feature is the "context engine," which stores semantic definitions to help AI understand connected systems better. The platform also includes a "self-learning loop" to continuously improve performance. CData, headquartered in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, provides data connectivity solutions that are also integrated into offerings from Google Cloud and Palantir. The Connect AI Gateway is currently available through an early access program.
