AI-based cyberattacks are now capable of infiltrating organizations in mere seconds, leaving security teams with minimal time to respond. This escalating risk and CrowdStrike's strategy to counter it were central themes at the company's Fal.Con event, as first reported by Silicon Angle.CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz highlighted the alarming reduction in "breakout time" – the period between an attacker's initial access and their movement to other targets within a network. Previously measured in minutes, this timeframe has now shrunk to mere seconds, effectively becoming "runtime" for attackers. CrowdStrike's "2026 Global Threat Report" indicated an average eCrime breakout time of 29 minutes, with the fastest recorded at just 27 seconds.To combat this, CrowdStrike introduced SafeMind, a suite of AI security models developed in partnership with Nvidia. These models, including Red Tempest for identifying attack paths and Blue Solano for remediation, are designed to provide defenders with AI capabilities comparable to those used by adversaries.
