Dynatrace to acquire Arize in $915M AI observability deal

Dynatrace has agreed to acquire AI observability company Arize in a cash and stock transaction valued at $915 million, bringing AI evaluation and production observability under the same platform. The deal is expected to close later this quarter or early in Dynatrace’s third quarter, subject to regulatory approval and other closing conditions.

Arize focuses on monitoring and evaluating AI models, applications and agents, including detecting hallucinations, measuring output quality and tracing how AI systems behave. Dynatrace plans to connect those capabilities with its existing visibility into applications, infrastructure, GPU usage and business processes. That would give teams a way to follow an AI application from testing and evaluation through deployment and ongoing production monitoring.

The acquisition also gives Dynatrace a stronger foothold with AI developers. Arize has built its presence around AI observability and open source tools, while Dynatrace has traditionally focused on monitoring applications and infrastructure in enterprise environments. Dynatrace said the combined platform will connect model and agent performance with application health, infrastructure data and business outcomes, while feeding production information back into AI development workflows.

For partners and service providers, the deal adds another piece to the growing AI operations opportunity. As customers move more AI applications and agents into production, they will need help monitoring how those systems perform, finding the source of problems and managing the infrastructure underneath them. Bringing Arize into Dynatrace gives partners a broader set of capabilities to build AI observability and managed services around as those deployments expand.
