Flamingo secures $4.5M seed funding for AI-powered IT infrastructure

Flamingo, a startup focused on an open, AI-native infrastructure layer for IT and security, has secured $4.5 million in seed funding led by Vertex Ventures. The company is preparing for its commercial launch with a platform designed to help managed service providers (MSPs) streamline operations by integrating open-source tools and AI agents. This funding brings Flamingo's total investment to $6.7 million, with further coverage provided by CRN.

Flamingo's OpenFrame platform aims to consolidate numerous IT and security product categories, including RMM, MDM, monitoring, and ticketing, into a unified solution. The platform utilizes AI agents, such as Fae for end-user support and Mingo for technician-side operations, to automate routine tasks, proactively identify issues, and manage privileged operations. This approach is intended to reduce ticket queues and improve efficiency for MSPs.

The company plans to launch its commercial operations soon, with a focus on providing a modern, AI-native experience for both MSPs and their end-users. The funding will accelerate AI development and product stabilization as Flamingo prepares to transition from beta, where it has onboarded approximately 400 MSPs.
