Maven Invests in Blueskytec to Advance Hardware-Based Cybersecurity

Maven Capital Partners has invested £1.5 million in Blueskytec, a UK-based developer of hardware-driven cybersecurity solutions for mission-critical sectors. The investment, made through the British Business Bank’s South West Investment Fund, will help the company expand its operations and scale deployments with industrial partners in the UK and US.

Blueskytec specialises in patented technology that protects operational technology systems in industries such as defence, civil nuclear, and energy. Unlike software-only tools, its hardware-based approach is designed to work alongside existing infrastructure to secure systems that manage industrial processes—an area often overlooked in traditional IT security strategies.

The funding will support recruitment, increased manufacturing capacity, and expanded business development efforts. This growth push comes as regulatory requirements tighten and cyber threats targeting critical national infrastructure become more advanced and persistent.

The South West Investment Fund is focused on supporting innovation-led companies across the region with equity and debt financing. By backing Blueskytec, the fund is enabling the development of security technology aimed at one of the most sensitive and high-risk areas of the economy.
