RevEng.ai Raises Funding to Strengthen Software Supply Chain Security

RevEng.ai, a cybersecurity startup based in London, has raised $4.15 million in seed funding to advance its AI-driven platform aimed at securing the software supply chain, reports SecurityWeek. The round was led by Sands Capital and included participation from Episode, In-Q-Tel Capital, and IQ Capital. The funding will be used to scale operations, enhance its proprietary technology, and expand into the U.S. market.

The company’s platform leverages its own BinNet AI model to identify backdoors, vulnerabilities, and malicious code embedded in software. By analyzing compiled binaries rather than source code, the tool is designed to help organizations verify software integrity without requiring deep access. This makes it particularly relevant for security teams working with third-party or legacy codebases.

RevEng.ai’s technology integrates with Linux, Windows, and Android environments and aims to fit into existing development workflows. In addition to improving threat detection, the platform offers automated security assessments and generates custom YARA rules, giving users a streamlined way to boost both compliance and development efficiency.

For MSSPs, RevEng.ai’s platform offers a way to deliver deeper software integrity checks as part of their managed security services. By integrating the tool into their existing workflows, MSSPs can automate the detection of embedded threats across client environments without needing access to source code. This allows them to expand their offerings with advanced supply chain risk assessments, improve incident response speed, and reduce manual analysis time, especially critical when managing diverse customer stacks across Linux, Windows, and Android.
