SkillBit has launched SkillBit Labs, a new cybersecurity training platform built around short, hands-on labs for enterprise teams and individual practitioners. The platform is designed to help security professionals build and measure practical skills in smaller learning sessions, with exercises that can be completed in 20 minutes or less. SkillBit is positioning the product around a growing workforce challenge: security teams need ongoing training, but many are already stretched by day-to-day work and changing threat environments. The launch comes as organizations continue to struggle with cybersecurity skills gaps. According to the 2025 ISC2 Cybersecurity Workforce Study cited by SkillBit, 59% of organizations report critical or significant cybersecurity skills gaps. SkillBit Labs is meant to address that problem through scenario-based exercises that mirror real cyber workflows, including foundational security topics and newer areas such as AI security. The product uses gamified features, including streaks, rankings, scoreboards, solves, “first bloods” and unlocked certifications, to keep users engaged and track progress over time. For enterprise customers, SkillBit Labs adds a manager-focused dashboard that gives leaders visibility into team readiness and skills development. Organizations can use the platform for onboarding, upskilling, hiring and promotion decisions, while tracking where employees are improving and where gaps remain. That matters for security leaders because training data can help turn workforce development into something more measurable, rather than relying only on certifications, annual training or one-off exercises.SkillBit said its platform has already supported hundreds of enterprise customers and trained professionals at more than 250 enterprises and government organizations, including GitHub and Tenable.
