Tanium has announced new security operations capabilities designed to provide IT and security operators with enhanced detection depth, response options, and AI-native hunting for faster threat investigation, containment, and resolution using live endpoint intelligence. These capabilities are powered by Tanium Atlas, an autonomous operating system enabling customers to build a self-driving security operations center (SOC) that operates within defined parameters, with further coverage provided by Channel Insider.
The new Tanium Security Operations portfolio integrates real-time endpoint visibility with the ability to act swiftly and at scale. Key features include enhanced detection depth using live endpoint data rather than historical information, surfacing abnormal behavior and advanced in-memory techniques for faster threat prioritization. The platform offers diverse response options, from quarantining hosts to collecting forensic evidence, supported by a new Federated SOC architecture for independent operator work.
AI-native hunting is facilitated by Tanium Atlas, which aids in threat investigation and alert prioritization, recommending actions like dismissal, escalation, hunting, or containment. Integrations with Google Threat Intelligence and multi-provider reputation intelligence aim to deepen investigation context and reduce false positives. For managed service providers (MSPs) and managed security service providers (MSSPs), these advancements offer a consolidated SecOps workflow, potentially reducing manual effort in correlating alerts across multiple tools and enabling the development of more advanced managed security services.
