MSSP Capgemini Launches South Carolina Security Operations Center

Capgemini, a Top 100 MSSP for 2018, has opened a security operations center (SOC) in Columbia, South Carolina. The Columbia SOC represents Capgemini's first multi-tenant SOC in North America and tenth within its worldwide security network, the company says.

The Columbia SOC specializes in cloud services and industrial systems, according to a prepared statement. It supports Capgemini's managed security services delivery capabilities and will work alongside various specialist partners.

Furthermore, the Columbia SOC will help Capgemini simultaneously protect customer data, assets and identities and drive business innovation and transformation, the company said. It also supports Capgemini's commitment to offering digital strategy, cloud, artificial intelligence (AI), customer experience innovation and other technologies to global organizations.

A Closer Look at Capgemini's Global SOCs

Capgemini's global SOCs provide myriad technology delivery options based on an organization's industry-specific security requirements, risk profiles, data assets and current security strategies and levels of protection, the company said. They empower organizations with a variety of cybersecurity capabilities, including:

  • Analytics.
  • Incident response.
  • Risk management.
  • Security monitoring.
  • Threat detection.

Organizations can use Capgemini's global SOCs to identify and prevent cyberattacks, the company stated. Also, organizations can leverage these SOCs to protect their sensitive data, assets, brands and customer partnerships.

Capgemini Acquires Leidos Cyber

In addition to the Columbia SOC, Capgemini in June purchased the cybersecurity arm of Fortune 500 company Leidos for an undisclosed sum. The Leidos Cyber acquisition helps Capgemini meet the security requirements of international organizations, according to the company.

Leidos Cyber provides cybersecurity products and services to safeguard organizations, data and networks against outside attacks and insider threats. It also offers incident response, security information and event management (SIEM) and other managed security services.
