Security On-Demand Adds Proactive Monitoring to Threat Detection Platform

Security On-Demand (SOD), an MSSP and managed detection and response (MDR) services provider, has incorporated Scan Surveillance cyber threat monitoring into its ThreatWatch threat detection and analytics platform. Scan Surveillance enables organizations to use ThreatWatch to proactively monitor cyber threat sources and actors, according to the company.

In addition, ThreatWatch now leverages the Unsupervised Anomaly Detection system to find unknown cyber threats. Unsupervised Anomaly Detection uses raw log data to help organizations perform real-time cyber threat analysis, SOD indicated.

ThreatWatch also provides Internet of Things (IoT) threat analysis. The platform uses SOD's behavioral anomaly detection abilities to identify change deviations in device behavior and detect cyberattacks, the company stated.

SOD Appoints Kim Scott as VP of Sales

The ThreatWatch updates come after SOD in November named Kim Scott as its VP of sales. Scott previously served as SOD's channel sales director.

Scott oversees SOD's sales channel team and partner sales channel relationships, the company said. She also is helping SOD embrace a one-tier, 100 percent channel model.

SOD provides cyber threat detection services for mid-market companies and state and local government agencies. It offers a variety of managed security and MDR services, including:

  • Advanced Threat and Log Analysis: Uses multiple threat detection models to identify threats and help organizations comply with data security requirements.
  • Managed Firewall On-Demand: Consists of security log monitoring, threat analysis and other firewall management services.
  • Scans On-Demand: Provides internal and external vulnerability scanning on a monthly basis.

Furthermore, SOD offers a partner program to MSPs and other channel partners. The program enables channel partners to deliver SOD's managed security and MDR services to their customers and provides access to sales and technical resources.
