Atos Security Operations Center, MDR Services Engage Media Companies

Global systems integrator Atos, a Top 250 MSSP, is seeking to offer security operations center (SOC) and managed detection and response (MDR) services that specifically protect media companies and video content from piracy and cyber threats.

The Atos MDR for Media focus includes Viaccess-Orca's anti-piracy center and a dynamic watermarking service that protects video content. In a prepared statement about the MDR for media push, Chris Moret, senior VP and head of cybersecurity services at Atos, said:

“Media and entertainment companies are highly vulnerable to cyber threats and face attacks from unique APT groups, hacktivists, for-profit cybercriminals, among other types of hackers. Our new ‘MDR for media’ offering considers the unique needs of these organizations and offers them the best protection against such attacks. It enables faster and targeted threat detection and response to protect our client’s high-value content."

Atos Managed Security Services, Acquisitions

This is one piece of a larger Atos managed security services push. Indeed, the Paris-based systems integrator employs 6,000 security experts and runs 15 SOCs worldwide.

The overall Atos business is in transition. On the M&A front, Atos continues to acquire cybersecurity companies and cloud-focused IT consulting companies, while it also looks to potentially shed certain legacy IT consulting groups. Rumors about Atos acquiring Secureworks also pop up from time to time, though no such deal has ever been announced.
