Cofense Launches Phishing Protection Solution for MSPs

Cofense has released Cofense Protect MSP, a phishing detection and response (PDR) solution that enables MSPs to deliver cloud-native, artificial intelligence-based email attack protection and employee training to their customers.

MSPs can use Cofense Protect to simulate cyber threats that bypass secure email gateways, the company noted. In addition, they can leverage the solution in combination with Microsoft Defender for Office 365 and Google Workspace to provide protection to help their customers reduce risk, the number of security vendors they use and their security costs by $1 million or more.

How Does Cofense Protect MSP Work?

Cofense Protect MSP leverages Computer Vision (a field of AI) that simulates how humans see with Cofense PhishMe's real world simulation training, the company stated. In doing so, Cofense Protect helps MSPs quickly and accurately detect phishing attacks.

Key features of Cofense Protect MSP include:

  • Custom Mitigation: Offers configurable rules for incident management control, including integration with security operations center (SOC) and security information and event management (SIEM) solutions.
  • Real-Time Analysis: Identifies and blocks malicious websites and emails before they are opened by their intended recipient.
  • Visual Analysis: Reviews emails and web pages and analyzes their visual representation to verify their authenticity.

Also, Cofense Protect MSP lets MSPs integrate crowdsourced intelligence from millions of users across various systems, the company said. That way, MSPs can use the solution to uncover ways to help their customers automate responses to phishing attacks.

Cofense Acquires Email Security Provider Cyberfish

The Cofense Protect MSP launch comes after the company in April 2021 acquired email security provider Cyberfish for an undisclosed sum. Cofense has integrated Cyberfish's machine learning capabilities into its PDR solutions and offers them to its MSP partners.

Cofense provides a PDR platform designed to help organizations stop phishing attacks and educate their employees about these incidents. The platform uses a global network of nearly 30 million people who can report suspected phishing attacks and help others guard against them.
