Cado Security, SentinelOne Partner On Cloud-based Digital Forensics
Cado Security, a company that specializes in cloud-based digital forensics, now integrates endpoint detection and response (EDR) provider SentinelOne. Together, Cado and SentinelOne are helping organizations detect, investigate and respond to security incidents faster than ever before, the two companies assert.
The partnership surfaces at a curious time in the digital forensics sector. Each time there’s a major breach, the victim seemingly hires Mandiant to investigate and document the attack. But those enterprise-class digital forensics and incident response services might be beyond the financial means of small MSPs that support SMB customers.
The question: Will Cado Security’s cloud-based approach to digital forensics make those services more widely available to customers of all sizes? Perhaps the more informed question involves the potential cloud-oriented use cases for partners and customers. Indeed, Cado’s use cases involve cloud forensics, container forensics, and cloud threat hunting, according to the company.
Now, along comes the SentinelOne integration. The use case: Security analysts can use SentinelOne’s Remote Script Orchestration capability in conjunction with the Cado Response digital forensics platform to perform security investigations across their SentinelOne Singularity XDR Platform-protected endpoints, the companies said. This helps security analysts capture security data and accelerate incident triage, Cado asserted.
In addition, security analysts can leverage SentinelOne’s Singularity Platform and Cado Response to detect malicious activity as soon as it occurs, the companies indicated. These analysts also can automate the process of capturing forensic data and historical context that they can use during security investigations.
Cado Raises $10 Million in Series A Funding
The SentinelOne partnership comes after Cado in April 2021 raised $10 million Series A funding round. Cado is using the funding to expand its engineering, customer support and go-to-market operations, the company stated at the time. The company previously raised $1.5 million in seed funding in November 2020.
Cado offers a partner program for MSSPs and MSPs, though we don’t know how many partners have embraced the platform to date.
