Zscaler has purchased ShiftRight, a security workflow automation company, for an undisclosed sum.

This is technology M&A deal number 853 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2022.

Zscaler, founded in 2008, is based in San Jose, California. The company has 5,572 employees listed on LinkedIn. Zscaler's areas of expertise include cloud security, zero trust protection and secure remote access.

ShiftRight, founded in 2016, is based in San Jose, California. The company has six employees listed on LinkedIn. ShiftRight's areas of expertise include cybersecurity and security workflow automation.

Zscaler Integrates ShiftRight's Workflow Automation Technology Into Its Cloud Security Platform

ShiftRight enables Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange cloud security platform users to leverage its workflow automation technology for security management, the companies said. In doing so, these users can automate security workflows to guard against cyber risks. They also can speed up their incident detection and response times.

In addition, ShiftRight automates "accountability and responsibility management for security teams," Zscaler Sanjay Kalra stated. ShiftRight allows these teams to establish distinct groups to secure their organizations' users and data properly. As a result, it strengthens Zscaler offerings and enables the company to deliver a collaborative security solution.

Zscaler, CrowdStrike Expand Cybersecurity Partnership

The ShiftRight acquisition comes after Zscaler in September 2022 enhanced the security detection capabilities available through its Zero Trust Exchange and the CrowdStrike extended detection and response (XDR) platform.

These capabilities give Zscaler and CrowdStrike customers closed-loop threat analytics, detection and response workflows across their endpoints, networks and applications, the companies indicated. Customers also can use the capabilities to correlate security data from multiple sources to identify new indicators of compromise (IoCs) and suspicious threat signals.

Zscaler provides Zero Trust Exchange, a platform that securely connects users, applications and devices across any network, the company noted. MSSPs and other channel partners can join Zscaler's Summit Partner Program to integrate Zero Trust Exchange into their offerings.
