Datto, a Kaseya company and cybersecurity and data backup solutions provider, has released its second generation of cloud-managed Ethernet switches and expanded early access to its Datto Secure Edge secure remote access solution.

Four new Datto ethernet switches are now available:

  • DSW100-8P-2G, which includes 8 GbE copper ports and two SFP optical ports
  • DSW100-24P-4X, which includes 24 GbE copper ports and four SFP+ optical ports
  • DSW100-48P-4X, which includes 48 GbE copper ports and four SFP+ optical ports
  • DSW250-8P-2X, which includes 8 2.5GbE copper ports and two SFP+ optical ports

Next-Gen Firewall Protection for MSPs

The ethernet switches complement Datto's existing line of Wi-Fi access points and can be set up in minutes, the company said. They are available in low-, medium- and high-density configurations and include power over Ethernet on all copper ports. In addition, the switches support the latest high-performance Wi-Fi 6 standard.

Meanwhile, Datto Secure Edge now provides MSPs with "next-generation firewall protection from the cloud and advanced networking capabilities needed for today's SaaS work environments," the company indicated. It also provides application control and web content filtering to protect end-users against web-based attacks and malware.

MSPs can buy Datto's ethernet solutions, Datto Secure Edge and other networking solutions from the company with an upfront payment option for hardware coupled with a support service subscription. Or, they can add the hardware cost to their service subscription.

Datto Introduces EDR Solution for MSPs

The Datto networking solutions announcements come after the company in November 2022 added the Datto EDR (endpoint detection and response) solution to the Kaseya IT Complete Platform.

MSPs can use Datto EDR to improve their security coverage, the company said. They also can use Datto EDR in conjunction with the Datto RMM (remote monitoring and management) solution and Kaseya One dashboard to integrate EDR capabilities into their everyday operations.

Datto offers unified continuity, networking, endpoint management and business management solutions to MSPs from around the world. The company has more than 17,000 MSP partners.
