SolarWinds MSP has upgraded one of its RMM (remote monitoring and management) software platforms with endpoint detection and response (EDR) cybersecurity capabilities.
The EDR capabilities are now available in SolarWinds N-central 12.3. New Network Topology Mapping and VMware management capabilities also surfaced in the release. The EDR capabilities are likely based on a SentinelOne partnership that SolarWinds announced in 2019.
MSPs can leverage N-central to view cyber threat and incident data and stay up to date on security dangers, SolarWinds MSP indicated. If a data breach occurs, MSPs can use N-central's quarantine and rollback capabilities to help an organization accelerate response and remediation.
SolarWinds MSP also has unveiled N-central network topology mapping, which helps MSPs to access customer device information, the company said. Furthermore, N-central now offers new VMware objects to help MSPs discover, monitor and manage VMware systems.
N-central provides a remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform for MSPs. It enables MSPs to use a single platform to monitor and manage Windows, Mac, Linux, VMware and network devices.
SolarWinds MSP, SentinelOne Partner for EDR Solution
The N-central EDR enhancements come after SolarWinds MSP and SentinelOne, an autonomous endpoint protection platform company, last year announced a cybersecurity partnership.
SolarWinds MSP continues to show strong MSP partner and revenue growth rates, SolarWinds CEO Kevin Thompson and CFO Barton Kalsu told Wall Street analysts in February 2020. The company also looks poised to capitalize on the rising demand for EDR solutions globally. Still, we're watching closely to see if or how the current coronavirus pandemic impacts the MSP and EDR sectors.
Worldwide EDR market revenues are projected to increase at a compound annual growth rate of nearly 23 percent between 2020 and 2025, industry analyst Mordor Intelligence stated. In addition, these revenues could exceed $4.2 billion by 2025.
