ForgeRock Unveils Passwordless Authentication Solution

Digital identity platform provider ForgeRock has debuted Enterprise Connect Passwordless, an authentication solution that "eliminates the need for users to interact with passwords inside large organizations," according to a prepared statement.

Enterprise Connect Passwordless comes via ForgeRock's strategic partnership with Secret Double Octopus and is being integrated into the ForgeRock Identity Platform. The solution removes the exchange of passwords between users and enterprise applications and infrastructure, ForgeRock said. In doing so, Enterprise Connect Passwordless ensures that users do not need to enter passwords to access their legacy applications, systems and services.

What ForgeRock Enterprise Connect Passwordless Offers

Key features of Enterprise Connect Passwordless include:

  • Ability to use FIDO2 WebAuthn, passkeys, OATH, push, one-time passcode (OTP), biometrics and other passwordless authentication methods
  • No-code orchestration engine with a drag-and-drop configuration that allows users to add security signal analyses, integrate third-party capabilities and create user registration, lost device and help desk workflows
  • Windows and Mac workstation access protection via the ForgeRock Authenticator App

Organizations can use Enterprise Connect Passwordless to reduce the risk of phishing, brute-force attacks and other password-based cyberattacks. Enterprise Connect Passwordless also allows organizations to add password encryption and rotation capabilities to their legacy systems.

Enterprise Connect Passwordless is expected to be generally available in the second quarter of 2023.

ForgeRock Innovates, Grows in 2022

The Enterprise Connect Passwordless announcement comes after ForgeRock ended 2022 with $230 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR), CEO Fran Rosch said. This represented a 25% year-over-year increase in ARR.

Meanwhile, ForgeRock increased its total revenue and subscription SaaS, support and maintenance revenue in 2022, the company indicated. ForgeRock also continued to innovate, introduce new products and integrate artificial intelligence into its digital identity platform in 2022, Rosch stated.

ForgeRock is owned and operated by private equity firm Thoma Bravo, which acquired the company in October 2022 for $2.3 billion in cash. It provides a digital identity platform used by more than 13,000 organizations. Furthermore, ForgeRock has established partnerships with technology companies from around the world.
