Symphion Introduces IoT Cyber Security as a Service

Symphion has launched the Internet of Things (IoT) Cyber Security as a Service turnkey security configuration management solution.

Cyber Security as a Service is designed to help organizations secure their IoT devices, regardless of make, model or type, according to Symphion. It monitors and manages IoT device security settings and automatically remediates them to their planned, controlled state if necessary.

How to Manage IoT Cybersecurity and Risks

New cyber threats are emerging that affect IoT devices, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) recently offered the following recommendations to help organizations manage IoT cybersecurity and risks:

  • Analyze the risks associated with IoT devices and plan accordingly.
  • Create policies and processes to guard against IoT device attacks and update these policies and processes periodically.
  • Evaluate IoT risks and develop and deploy risk mitigation best practices.
  • Examine IoT risk by device and device usage and deactivate IoT device capabilities to limit risk.

Expect the demand for IoT security services and solutions to increase in the years to come, too.

The global IoT security market size is projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 33.7 percent between 2018 and 2023, industry analyst MarketsandMarkets stated. This market also could be worth $35.2 billion by 2023.
