Kaspersky Web Traffic Security Gains Threat Detection

Kaspersky, a Russian antivirus and anti-malware solutions provider, has integrated Kaspersky Anti Targeted Attack threat detection capabilities into its Kaspersky Web Traffic Security offering. In doing so, organizations can leverage Kaspersky Web Traffic Security in combination with Kaspersky Anti Targeted Attack to detect web-based cyber threats, according to the company.

Kaspersky Web Traffic Security automatically sends suspicious files to Kaspersky Anti Targeted Attack for analysis, Kaspersky indicated. It also provides insights into the nature and malicious activity that advanced threats generate, including files, transmission of commands, payloads and stolen data, and blocks these threats.

Two Kaspersky Web Traffic Security Deployment Options Available

Kaspersky Web Traffic Security is now available as a software appliance and standalone application.

The software appliance version of Kaspersky Web Traffic Security allows organizations to quickly deploy a secure web gateway with a pre-configured proxy server, Kaspersky said. Meanwhile, the standalone application version of Kaspersky Web Traffic Security can be used in conjunction with different cybersecurity products, does not require a separate server and can be installed with other applications but configured separately from other gateway components.

Kaspersky Web Traffic Security is now available in both deployment options as part of Kaspersky Security for Internet Gateway and Kaspersky Total Security for Business.

Kaspersky Launches SOC

The web-focused update comes after Kaspersky launched a Security Operations Center (SOC) earlier this year. The SOC offers global threat intelligence, cybersecurity training and other security capabilities.

Kaspersky initially has not made a major push to promote its SOC to MSPs and MSSPs, Rob Cataldo, vice president of enterprise sales at Kaspersky USA, told MSSP Alert earlier this year. However, Cataldo indicated that Kaspersky may consider expanding SOC support to MSPs and MSSPs via the Kaspersky United partner program.
