SOCaaS, SOAR Meet MDR: Delta Risk Unveils VMware Carbon Black Integration

Delta Risk, a Top 200 MSSP for 2019 and security operations center-as-a-service (SOCaaS) provider, has integrated VMware Carbon Black managed detection, response, threat hunting and monitoring capabilities into its ActiveEye security orchestration, automation and response (SOAR) platform.

The VMware Carbon Black integration comes after Delta Risk in January joined the CrowdStrike Elevate Partner Program and began using the CrowdStrike Falcon endpoint protection platform to help organizations improve their security posture.

ActiveEye users now can leverage the platform in conjunction with VMWare Carbon Black security capabilities to:

  • Automate, analyze and orchestrate threat detection and response.
  • Access key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess a security program.
  • View data and reports related to various security controls.

In addition, Delta Risk provides managed detection and response (MDR) across VMware Carbon Black’s next-generation endpoint protection solutions.

Introducing ActiveEye 2.0

Delta Risk in October unveiled ActiveEye 2.0, which features:

  • Alert Resolution Metrics: Provide insights into security activities and allow organizations to create executive security reports and KPIs.
  • Personalized Customer Notebooks: Ensure organizations can provide Delta Risk’s SOC team with details about what is important or what to ignore across their IT environments.
  • Virtual Analyst Playbook Orchestration: Minimizes false-positive alerts to help SOC analysts prioritize critical alerts and speed up incident response.

ActiveEye enables organizations to scale MDR across their operations, according to Delta Risk. The platform is used across Delta Risk’s managed security services and offers alert prioritization, threat analytics and other security capabilities.

VMWare and Carbon Black

VMware acquired Carbon Black for $2.1 billion and launched a Security Business Unit in 2019.

As of mid-2018, partners influenced more than 90 percent of Carbon Black’s sales. By mid-2019, MSSPs were influencing some of Carbon Black’s largest customer wins. When the VMware deal was completed, Carbon Black had more than 5,600 global customers supported by more than 500 MSSPs, VARs, distributors and technology integrators.
