NTT AppSec Division Seeks to Automate Application Security Testing

The Application Security Division of NTT, which has a Top 250 MSSP sister business, has launched The WhiteHat Vantage Platform for developers and security teams. The platform provides security coverage for web applications and API testing across the software development lifecycle (SDLC), the company asserts.

The overall goal? Empower developers and security teams to automate application security testing. In addition, the platform consolidates results from layered testing solutions to provide application security insights. Also, a related effort called Vantage Inspect can detect open-source software vulnerabilities in applications, NTT stated.

Furthermore, NTT will incorporate intelligence-directed dynamic application security testing (ID-DAST) into its next iteration of Vantage Inspect, the company said. This will give developers the ability to integrate security testing into each step of the SDLC and prevent vulnerabilities from reaching production, NTT indicated.

NTT: Multiple Security Initiatives

NTT is a massive company with roughly 300,000 employees worldwide. Amid that global reach, the company and its business units work in multiple security sectors.

For instance, NTT in October 2021 released its Cyber Threat Sensor AI (CTS-AI) network detection and response (NDS) solution.

CTS-AI uses AI, machine learning and human-validated threat intelligence to protect Amazon Web Services (AWS) client applications and workloads, NTT said. The solution scans internet traffic and curates threat data from over 100 intelligence and 50 partner feeds and validates threats to ensure accurate contextualization and prioritization.
