Red Sift Announces GPT-4-Powered Asset Discovery and Classification Feature

Red Sift has added the Relevance Detection feature to its OnDOMAIN domain discovery and investigation solution to help organizations "quickly and efficiently gain more visibility into their domain estate."

Relevance Detection, according to a prepared statement, uses the OpenAI GPT-4 large language model to automatically monitor all configuration aspects of an organization's known domain names and hosts to extract their unique identities, including:

  • Domain name registration identities
  • Domain name email addresses
  • Mail records
  • Mail server relationships
  • Private name servers

What's in it for MSSP?

Relevance Detection automatically scans each identity across an organization's domains, Red Sift indicated. From here, an end-user can generate a custom recommendation to determine if an identity should be monitored and why. The user can then utilize this recommendation to find security vulnerabilities and explore ways to strengthen their organization's network security posture.

In addition, Relevance Detection helps users surface an organization's undiscovered domain assets and uncover any potential lookalikes that exist in the wild, Red Sift noted. This enables an organization to discover assets that may have been parked or forgotten years ago that could expose it to cyberattacks and data breaches.

Red Sift CEO Rahul Powar explained to MSSP Alert what Relevance Detection means for MSSPs and their customers:

"Red Sift's GPT-4-powered feature, Relevance Detection, enables MSSPs to offer unmatched visibility and control over an organization's domain estate, without the need for human interference. Generating, maintaining and evaluating these asset inventory lists is extremely difficult given their volume and complexity. With Relevance Detection, MSSPs can eliminate these traditional barriers to network monitoring for their clients, as it automates the identity discovery and classification process and provides custom recommendations for full identity enablement with just a couple of clicks."

Red Sift Updates Digital Resilience Platform Suite

The Relevance Detection launch comes after Red Sift in May 2023 announced its spring 2023 product release, which offers:

  • Continuous real-time discovery across a customer's asset inventory
  • Single-pane-of-glass view across a customer's IT environment
  • Technology integrations for security information and event management (SIEM) and security orchestration, automation and response (SOAR)
  • Compliance support for the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) and new SEC cybersecurity regulations

Red Sift's digital resilience platform suite helps organizations discover threats within their emails, domains and networks, the company said. MSSPs, MSPs and other technology providers can join Red Sift's partner program to integrate the company's digital resilience offerings into their portfolios.
