Digital Hands Promotes SOC as a Service to MSPs

Digital Hands, an MSSP, now offers security operations center-as-a-service (SOCaaS) capabilities to Ingram Micro channel partners, according to a prepared statement. Together, the companies will deliver SOCaaS to channel partners across the United States.

Ingram is promoting Digital Hands' managed security and SOCaaS solutions, the companies said. In some ways, the relationship sounds a bit similar to an Ingram-Arctic Wolf Networks partnership. That pact provides Ingram's U.S. channel partners with access to Arctic Wolf's SOCaaS and related products.

Still, there are some nuances to note.

Arctic Wolf Networks or Digital Hands?: Ingram Micro Offers Partner Choice

According to Ingram Micro VP of Security Eric Kohl, both Digital Hands and Arctic Wolf Networks align with the distributor's strategy around SOC as a Service, while helping partners to capitalize on the demand for managed security services.

There is some overlap in the two SOC as a Service offerings, but the vendors typically focus on different partners and different market segments, according to Kohl.

“There’s room in the market for multiple providers," he adds. "Our goal is to bring proven SOC as a Service providers to market for our channel partners.”

That's a big goal. Numerous companies are competing to become the preferred outsourced SOC for VARs and MSPs. But no single company dominates the SOCaaS market for solutions providers, and many smaller partners are still trying to figure out the economics and profit models associated with such relationships.

Digital Hands: New Executive Hire

Meanwhile, Digital Hands this month named Myrna Soto as its COO. Soto is responsible for Digital Hands' marketing, human resources, customer success, security operations and sales, the company indicated.

Soto most recently served as a partner at venture capital firm ForgePoint Capital. She also worked as corporate SVP and global chief information security officer at Comcast and possesses more than 26 years of technology leadership experience.
