Sophos Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA): Part of Larger MSP Security Partner Strategy

Digital security concept 3d

Can Sophos build a single software agent that supports all of its key software products? That seems to be the security company's goal as it continues to expand partnerships with MSPs and MSSPs worldwide. The latest example involves Sophos ZTNA, a zero trust network access offering that connects an organization's end-users and devices to applications and data -- and thereby protects those assets against cyber threats, the company asserts.

The bigger picture involves Sophos Intercept X delivering endpoint protection and ZTNA via a single agent, Sophos said. The overall goal is to empower MSPs and MSSPs with end-to-end protection across endpoints, users, identities, applications and networks.

Dig a little deeper on Sophos ZTNA, and you'll notice that it micro-segments networks to protect against intrusions, lateral movement and data theft, the company stated. It also authenticates user identities with multiple factors and authorizes user access to network applications and systems.

Sophos ZTNA is available via Sophos' global channel partners. It can be managed via the Sophos Central platform alongside other solutions.

Introducing Sophos Cloud Optix CSPM Updates

The Sophos ZTNA announcement comes after the company in November 2021 updated its Cloud Optix cloud security posture management (CSPM) solution. With the updates, Cloud Optix users can automate security incident detection and response across Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure.

Sophos, backed by private equity firm Thoma Bravo, delivers cybersecurity solutions to more than 500,000 global organizations. It also provides a partner program that supports more than 16,500 MSPs. The company competes against a growing number of security businesses that now promote cloud, network and endpoint security services to MSPs that support SMB end-customers.
