SpyCloud Releases Ransomware Detection and Response Solution

SpyCloud, a company that specializes in cybercrime analytics, has launched the Compass solution to help organizations "detect and respond to the initial precursors to ransomware attacks," according to a prepared statement.

Identifying Malware Attacks

Compass identifies when malware compromises devices, applications and end-users, SpyCloud said. It also provides evidence that data taken during malware attacks is in cybercriminals' hands and allows incident responders to visualize threats. In doing so, Compass helps incident responders quickly analyze and remediate threats.

In addition, Compass utilizes SpyCloud's Post-Infection Remediation approach, which gives security professionals steps to address malware attacks, the company stated. Post-Infection Remediation empowers these professionals to mitigate ransomware and other cyberattacks by resetting application credentials and invalidating session cookies taken by infostealer malware.

SpyCloud Looks to Expand Partnerships, Offers Identity Protection Solution

The Compass launch comes after SpyCloud in November 2022 introduced a North American partner program. By joining the program, participants can access certifications and product licenses, along with a partner portal with training programs, sales enablement materials, product news, deal registration and reporting, SpyCloud stated.

Previously, SpyCloud in May 2022 released the Session Identity Protection early warning system that utilizes the company's malware intelligence to surface credentials and session tokens stolen from consumers by infostealers. The system identifies and invalidates any active sessions identified by a compromised cookie or consumers infected by malware and other infostealers, SpyCloud said. It also protects users against attackers leveraging stolen cookies that mimic trusted devices for high-value accounts and flags user accounts with known compromised devices.

SpyCloud employs nearly 200 security experts and offers cybercrime analytics solutions designed to help organizations guard against cyberattacks, prevent consumer fraud losses and perform cybercrime investigations, the company said. MSSPs can join SpyCloud's channel partner program to integrate these solutions into their offerings.
