Zscaler Unveils Cloud Resilience Capabilities for Security Service Edge Solution

Credit: Zscaler

Zscaler, a zero trust exchange platform provider, has released its Zscaler Resilience business continuity capabilities for its security service edge (SSE) platform.

What Zscaler Resilience Offers

Organizations can use Zscaler Resilience to protect against blackouts, brownouts and other service failure events, the company said. Zscaler Resilience's features include:

  • Disaster Recovery. During a catastrophic event that affects an organization's private applications behind the Zscaler cloud, Zscaler Resilience provides IT and security operations teams with the ability to bypass the affected Zscaler cloud and connect to a Zscaler Private Service Edge in a customer's local data center or in a public cloud.
  • Performance-Based Selection. Zscaler customers can recover from brownout scenarios that can cause performance degradation between end-users and applications by probing the gateways for HTTP latency and establishing tunnels that choose the optimal path for traffic.
  • Data Center Exclusion. Zscaler customers can set a temporary exclusion period for any data centers experiencing connectivity issues and ensures they can automatically regain services once the issue is resolved.

Along with Zscaler Resilience, Zscaler has launched the Zscaler Resilience Audit service. Zscaler customers can use Zscaler Resilience Audit to identify and address security gaps and generate insights that they can use to improve their business continuity plans, the company noted.

Zscaler Joins CISA Group, Introduces Cloud App Data Security Innovations

The Zscaler Resilience announcement comes after Zscaler in December 2022 joined the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Joint Cyber Defense Collaborative (JCDC). Zscaler will help JCDC members identify ways to improve their cybersecurity posture and participate in future cybersecurity strategy planning sessions, the company stated.

Previously, Zscaler in October 2022 unveiled innovations to help organizations secure their data across cloud apps. These innovations include zero configuration data loss protection (DLP) capabilities to help security teams classify and secure data, the company indicated.

Zscaler delivers "the world's largest inline cloud security platform," according to the company. It provides a partner program and ecosystem that allows MSSPs and MSPs to integrate zero trust, SSE and other security capabilities into their offerings.
