Kenna Security, a company that provides a cyber risk platform for MSSPs and resellers, has appointed Rick Kramer as its VP of worldwide channel sales and alliances.

Kramer is expected to drive Kenna's channel investments and develop programs that enable channel and alliance partners to deliver the Kenna Security Platform to customers, according to a prepared statement.

Prior to joining Kenna, Kramer served as VP of channel sales for Americas at Tanium, an endpoint security and systems management firm. Kramer led Tanium's channel business and helped the company generate over $40 million in annual contract value bookings in the past year.

Kramer also has held channel sales leadership roles at Veritas and Symantec and possesses more than 20 years of sales and channel sales experience.

Kenna Eyes Channel Growth

The Kramer hire is one of several recent moves that could help Kenna accelerate its channel growth.

GuidePoint Security, an MSSP that offers virtual security operations center (vSOC) branded managed security services, last week integrated the Kenna Security Platform into its vulnerability management offering. Now, GuidePoint customers can use the Kenna Security Platform to automate cyber risk analysis and identify and remediate cyberattacks.

In addition, Kenna this month added predictive cyber risk specialist Timothy Sadler as its VP of global sales. Sadler previously served as VP of sales for the western United States at Tanium and has held leadership roles at ExabeamMenlo SecurityFireEye and IronPort.

What Is the Kenna Security Platform?

The Kenna Security Platform continuously analyzes vulnerabilities in real-time and prioritizes remediation via predictive risk modeling, the company noted. It leverages data science and predictive modeling technologies, and by doing so, helps organizations identify and mitigate cyber threats.

Key features of the Kenna Security Platform include:

  • Risk Scoring: Determines the risk scores of vulnerabilities and assets based on customer vulnerabilities and asset data.
  • Remediation Intelligence Engine: Enables organizations to prioritize their remediation efforts based on risk scores.
  • Telemetry: Leverages billions of pieces of information to help organizations find out what cyberattackers are doing and what tools they are using to exploit vulnerabilities in the wild.

Approximately 25 percent of Fortune 20 firms and 10 percent of Fortune 500 firms currently use the Kenna Security Platform, the company said.

The number of organizations using the Kenna Security Platform grew by more than 60 percent to more than 300 customers last year, according to the company. Also, sales of the Kenna Security Platform more than doubled for the third year in a row in 2017.
