Amazon has unveiled the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security Hub, which provides end users with high-priority security alerts and compliance status notifications across their AWS accounts. The company announced the hub at this week's AWS re:Invent cloud conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.Key features of AWS Security Hub include:AWS Security Hub also works in conjunction with a variety of AWS services, including:AWS Security Hub eliminates the complexity and reduces the time and costs of managing and improving security and compliance across AWS accounts and workloads, Amazon said. By doing so, AWS Security Hub helps users streamline their AWS account security and compliance efforts.
- Aggregated Security Findings: Collects and prioritizes security findings across AWS accounts and partner tools.
- Automated Compliance Checks: Runs automated, continuous account-level configuration and compliance checks based on industry standards and best practices.
- Custom or Preconfigured Security Insights: Allows users to create custom security insights or group various security findings together to highlight emerging trends or possible issues.
- Integrated Dashboards: Help users identify security trends and potential issues.
- Standardized Findings Format: Uses a standardized findings format to help users avoid data parsing.
- Amazon GuardDuty: Threat detection service that monitors for malicious or unauthorized behavior across AWS accounts.
- Amazon Inspector: Automated security assessment service designed to improve AWS application security and compliance.
- Amazon Macie: Security service that leverages machine learning to discover, classify and protect sensitive data in AWS.
