MSP network operations teams can use a new integration from BackBox and Paessler AG to reduce the overall mean time to resolution when network issues are discovered, according to the companies.

The integration combines BackBox's network automation platform with the Paessler PRTG network monitoring software.

How the BackBox-Paessler Integration Works

The BackBox-Paessler integration allows network operations centers (NOCs) and network operations teams to access device configuration data from within the PRTG monitoring dashboard, the companies stated. From here, they can automatically identify and address network operations issues. They also can reduce their mean time to respond (MTTR) to these issues and improve network availability and performance.

Meanwhile, channel vendors can use the BackBox-Paessler integration to "offer a best-in-breed solution to network operations teams," the companies indicated. In addition, this solution enables network operations teams to collect, validate and store the configurations of their networking equipment and restore them as needed.

A Closer Look at BackBox and Paessler

BackBox offers a network and security device platform that supports over 180 vendors and comes with over 3,000 pre-built automations, the company said. It also provides a partner program for MSPs and technology resellers.

MSPs can use BackBox's platform to automate and audit backups, operating system updates, configurations and various business tasks. They can run the platform on premises, in the cloud or as a service. The platform also can be used in conjunction with password vaults and single sign-on (SSO) solutions.

Paessler provides PRTG monitoring tools that organizations can use to track their IT infrastructure, the company indicated. These tools include:

  • Network Monitor for tracking IT, operational technology (OT) and industrial IT environments
  • Enterprise Monitor for distributed monitoring of environments with thousands of devices or services
  • Hosted Monitor in which Paessler monitors an organization's devices and services

Paessler also provides a partner program.
