The Cisco Advanced Malware Protection (AMP) for Endpoints cloud-managed endpoint security solution now helps organizations uncover and address phishing and spoofing attacks. Cisco unveiled an updated version of AMP for Endpoints at this week's RSA Conference in San Francisco.
In addition, Cisco has partnered with email security solutions firm Agari to provide email security services that protect end users against fraudulent emails and safeguard employee devices against ransomware, cryptomining and fileless malware, according to a prepared statement.
A Closer Look at Cisco's Endpoint and Email Security Offerings
AMP for Endpoints enables organizations to quickly identify and prevent endpoint attacks, Cisco said. The solution offers a variety of capabilities, including:
- Malicious Activity Protection: Stops ransomware execution and protects against fileless attacks.
- Threat Investigation with Cisco Visibility: Ingests, normalizes and enriches security events and helps security analysts simplify and accelerate threat investigations.
- Unpatched Software Vulnerability Protection: Safeguards end users against unpatched software vulnerabilities, even when users are offline.
Meanwhile, Cisco and Agari are working together to market and sell the Cisco Domain Protection and Advanced Phishing Protection email security services.
Domain Protection automates the process of using email authentication to prevent phishing attacks, Cisco stated. It also leverages the domain-based message authentication, reporting and conformance (DMARC) email authentication standard and real-time reporting to notify domain users about noncompliant emails being sent from their domains.
Advanced Phishing Protection adds machine learning capabilities to the Cisco Email Security product, the company noted. It blocks advanced identity deception attacks and uses both global and local telemetry data combined with analytics and modeling to validate the reputation and authenticity of senders.
Cisco Expands Its ConnectWise Partnership
Going forward, Cisco will deliver the ConnectWise Advanced Security Dashboard cloud management platform and enable managed service providers (MSPs) to offer Cisco Security.
The Advanced Security Dashboard integrates with the ConnectWise Manage business management solution and complements ConnectWise Unite with Cisco, the existing portal for MSPs based on Cisco's cloud-managed products. Also, the Advanced Security Dashboard provides MSPs with the ability to deliver managed security services with Cisco's security portfolio.
ConnectWise Unite for Cisco is in pilot and expected to be generally available soon, ConnectWise told MSSP Alert this week. Furthermore, both ConnectWise and Cisco will provide more information about the Advanced Security Dashboard at the RSA Conference, ConnectWise IT Nation 2018 in Europe and Cisco Partner Connection Week in Nassau.
