8. Artificial Intelligence: PatternEx, an AI specialist, has unveiled the PatternEx Virtual Analyst Platform. This threat analytics platform helps customers to protect intellectual property, customer information, and confidential data, PaternEx claims.

7. Cloud Security Analytics: Hillstone Networks, a provider of network security solutions, has unveiled Hillstone CloudView, a SaaS offering that delivers security management and analytics services in the cloud. We're checking to see if there's a multi-tenant MSP version or if this is designed purely for corporate customers.

6. Equifax Breach Update: Equifax has seen no evidence that the recent breach impacting 145 million U.S. consumers was an inside job, former CEO Richard Smith said. Ummm... We'll respectfully disagree. Incompetent patch management and poor business process management combined to make this an inside job...

5. Our Leaders At Work: The Democratic and Republican national committees are both making significant investments in cybersecurity to prevent hacking in the run-up to future elections. The Hill has the details.

4. U.S. vs. Russia & Kaspersky: Hackers working for the Russian government stole details of how the U.S. penetrates foreign computer networks and defends against cyberattacks after a National Security Agency contractor removed the highly classified material and put it on his home computer, according to The Wall Street Journal. Smoking Gun?: The hackers appear to have targeted the contractor after identifying the files through the contractor’s use of antivirus software made by Russia-based Kaspersky Lab, The Journal reported. Kaspersky denied any involvement int he hack.

3. White House CellPhone Hack: White House officials believe that chief of staff John Kelly’s personal cellphone was compromised, potentially as long ago as December, according to Politico.

2. Office 365 Attacks: A botnet known as KnockKnock has launched an extended cyberattack campaign against Office 365 Exchange Online email accounts, originating from 16 countries around the world, according to SkyHigh Networks. We'll share more details soon.
