1. Cyber Insurance Partnership: MAPFRE, an insurer in Spain, and technology provider Cyberwrite, a global provider of cyber insurance technology, are partnering to help the insurer's clients reduce the risk of cyberattacks with AI. Cyberwrite will provide the MAPFRE with a cyber insurance risk platform for small and medium-sized companies, with the aim of having a more accurate knowledge of the risk at the time of underwriting and renewing its cyber insurance.

2. Product Launch: Valletta Software Development has introduced Security Magnet, a new tool designed to enhance security for websites, mobile apps, and servers in fintech, e-commerce and other data-sensitive industries. This service improves the safeguarding of sensitive customer data and financial transactions, Valetta said.

3. Leadership Move: Optiv + ClearShark, a cybersecurity and IT solutions provider focused exclusively on serving the U.S. federal government, has named Daniel Wilbricht as the company's president. Wilbricht will also serve as a member of Optiv's executive leadership team, where he'll focus on growing the cyber advisory and solution leader's presence in the U.S. public sector.

4. Security Partnership: Fend Incorporated and Carahsoft Technology Corp. have announced a cybersecurity partnership. Under the agreement, Carahsoft will serve as Fend’s Master Government Aggregator, making the company’s data diodes and critical infrastructure analysis tools available to the public sector through Carahsoft’s reseller partners and NASA Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP) V, Information Technology Enterprise Solutions – Software 2 (ITES-SW2), NASPO ValuePoint Cooperative Purchasing Organization and OMNIA Partners contracts.

5. Industry Recognition: Goldilock, a British cybersecurity company, has been accepted into the NATO DIANA accelerator program. DIANA is designed to equip businesses with the skills and knowledge to navigate the world of deep tech and dual-use innovation. It provides an immersive curriculum that integrates the NATO innovation network and strategic business partners from the commercial and defense markets, the company said.

6. Leadership Move: The Institute for Critical Infrastructure Technology (ICIT), a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit think tank, has appointed national security expert Cory Simpson as its new chief executive officer. As one of the nation’s foremost experts on national security, cybersecurity, emerging technologies and policy, Simpson solidifies ICIT leadership as it prepares for its 10 anniversary and the next decade of its work, the organization said.

7. CISA Launches Secure by Design Alerts: The Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is launching Secure by Design Alerts. CISA's first publication in the Secure by Design Alert series focuses on malicious cyber activity against web management interfaces. It brings attention to how customers would be better shielded from malicious cyber activity targeting these systems if manufacturers implemented security best practices and eliminated repeat classes of vulnerabilities in their products.
