Each morning MSSP Alert broadcasts a quick lineup of news, analysis and chatter from across the global managed security services provider, SOC (security operations center) and IT outsourcing ecosystem.
Here’s the lineup for Tuesday, April 10, 2018:
16. Facebook Privacy: Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg swapped his trademark T-shirt and jeans for a dark suit and a purple tie on Monday as he met U.S. lawmakers to apologize for the social network’s misuse of its members’ data and to head off possible regulation, according to Reuters. Meanwhile, a coalition of US and EU consumer and privacy rights groups has urged Facebook to “confirm your company’s commitment to global compliance with the GDPR and provide specific details on how the company plans to implement these changes in your testimony before the US Congress this week," according to TechCrunch.
15. Fake News & Cybersecurity: Fake news threatens U.K. businesses with reputational damage as well as falling sales and share prices, adding to the growing risk from cyberattacks facing companies from local Indian restaurants to multinationals, a National Cyber Security Centre report says.
14. Professional Services: InConsult, an advisory firm specializing in end-to-end risk management, governance, audit and business continuity services, has launched a suite of cyber risk management services.
