12. White House Blames Russia for NotPetya: The White House on Thursday blamed Russia for the devastating NotPetya cyber attack last year, joining the British government in condemning Moscow for allegedly unleashing a virus that crippled parts of Ukraine’s infrastructure and damaged computers in countries across the globe, according to Reuters. Russia has repeatedly denied the allegations.

11. SWIFT Hack: Unknown hackers stole 339.5 million roubles ($6 million) from a Russian bank last year in an attack using the SWIFT international payments messaging system, this report says. We'll share more details soon.

10. Safeguarding Elections: Congressional Democrats introduced legislation this week that would provide more than $1 billion to boost cybersecurity of U.S. voting systems, while Vice President Mike Pence defended the administration’s efforts to protect polls from hackers, Huffington Post reports.

9. Culprits Identified: Cisco Systems researchers blame Ukrainian hacker group Coinhoarder for the massive spoofing of the Google ads system that triggered $50 million in cryptocurrency thefts from an undisclosed number of victims, according to Android Headlines.

8. Another Compliance Setback: Roughly two months after suffering a $3.5 million HIPAA compliance fine, Puerto-Rico based insurance company Triple-S Advantage has reported another breach, this time in the form of a mailing gone wrong, according to HealthcareFinance.

7. Partnership: Jask, which develops an Autonomous Security Operations Center (ASOC) platform, has inked a partnership with Carbon Black, the endpoint security specialist. The alliance integrates Jask's artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) capabilities with in-depth alerts from Carbon Black’s Cb Defense and Cb Response. 6. Partner Program: CloudGenix has joined the Symantec Technology Integration Partner Program (TIPP), a global ecosystem composed of more than 100 participating technology companies, in a collaborative effort to combat cyber crime and secure the cloud generation, the company says.

5. Momentum: CyberArk's Q4 revenue was $80.4 million, up 25 percent vs. Q4 2016. The company specializes in privileged account security.

4. M&A: Oracle has acquired Zenedge, which develops an application firewall and DDoS mitigation platform. Financial terms were not disclosed.

3. McAfee Partner Conference: McAfee's MPower Americas 2018 cybersecurity summit and partner conference are confirmed for October 2018 in Las Vegas. 2. AWS Server Exposure: FedEx is the latest company to leave customer information exposed on an Amazon Web Services bucket, according to Kromtech Security Center. FedEx has since secured the information.

1. Gov't Threat Hunting: Trustwave, a Top 100 MSSP for 2017, has launched a government threat hunting service designed to help agencies address cybersecurity challenges.
