7. Multiple Bank Breaches: Bank of Mexico Governor Alejandro Diaz de Leon on Wednesday said no further cyber attacks on banks had been seen since May 8, but that investigators would need to finish their probe to assure banks’ vulnerabilities have been addressed. And north of the the U.S. boarder, Bank of Montreal and Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce disclosed this week that cyber attackers may have stolen the data of nearly 90,000 customers in what appeared to be the first significant assault on financial institutions in the country, Reuters reported.
6. IoT Data Exposure: It's been three years since researchers first discovered automated tank gauges (ATGs) at some 5,000 US gas stations exposed on the public Internet without password protection, and a recent scan found 5,635 locations were vulnerable to the same issue, Dark Reading reports.
